Mednefits is a health benefits platform that modernizes employee healthcare with digital claims, wellness programs, and transparent pricing.
As part of Berjaya Group’s employee experience initiative, Mednefits was integrated into the Buzz App to allow employees to manage healthcare coverage and use their e-wallet seamlessly.

I was responsible for the UI/UX design of the Mednefits integration within Buzz App.
My goals were to:
- Create a smooth employee experience for accessing e-wallet & healthcare benefits.
- Ensure the UI aligned with Mednefits’ brand guidelines while blending into Buzz’s design.
- Deliver interactive prototypes for feedback under a tight timeline.

Before integration:
- Employees had to pay for medical visits first and then manually submit claims for reimbursement.

Research & Planning
I explored UI trends in healthcare apps to ensure familiarity and usability.
Then, I:
- Designed user flows for accessing the e-wallet and making payments.
- Created interactive prototypes in Adobe XD.
- Iterated quickly based on internal feedback from the project manager and developers.

Clinic Registration Flow
- Employees can simply scan the clinic’s QR code upon arrival.
- Select the patient (self or dependent) within the app.
- Confirm registration details in just one step — making check-in quick and paperless.
Activity Tracking
- A dedicated screen shows current activity: clinic name, appointment time, and visit status.
- Includes a checkout button so employees can easily confirm when they are done.
Effortless Payment Experience
- A simple, intuitive payment flow lets users key in the amount to pay.
- Real-time deduction from wallet balance provides instant feedback.
- Creates a hassle-free, cashless healthcare payment experience.
The UI maintained Mednefits’ modern design aesthetics while blending seamlessly with the Berjaya Buzz App for a unified experience.

Impact
The completed integration was delivered on time, fully meeting project requirements and making healthcare benefits significantly more accessible for employees.
- End-to-end experience simplified — from clinic registration, to activity tracking, to payment, all in a few taps.
- Reduced barriers — employees no longer needed to manually claim reimbursements or contact HR for coverage details.
- Improved adoption — internal feedback showed employees felt more confident using their benefits after the integration.
Overall, the intuitive design ensured employees could easily navigate and maximize their healthcare options directly within the Berjaya Buzz App.
Personal Takeaway
This project reinforced the importance of adaptability under tight timelines and designing for clarity in complex flows.
Although there were limited opportunities for full-scale user testing, internal simulations and rapid iteration allowed the team to deliver a functional, user-friendly, and adoption-ready solution.
I learned how to prioritize key user pain points and maximize impact even when working with limited time and resources.
